canyoning
Canyoning is a subtle mixture between hiking, speleology, Iescalation and water sports.
Our canyoning guides will take you down rivers more or less cashed by different means of progression depending on the terrain: walking, slipping, swimming, jumping, descent on rope, crawling, etc.
You understand, canyoning is the fun activity par excellence. It allows you to discover extraordinary and preserved natural environments.

THE CANYONS OF MARITIME ALPES
The highest concentration of canyons in France is found in the Alpes-Maritimes. From the river to the temporary brook, a multitude of streams devastate reliefs often rugged in pot broths or waterfalls. First of all, the Esteron basin offers several major routes. Here the waters are often turquoise, the surprising relief and the narrow parts alternate with the sunny passages. The Wolf can travel upstream in rather calm waters or downstream with a much higher flow. Finally, the Cians, Vesubia, Tinea and Roya basins offer more alpine routes, often vertical and spectacular.
CANYONING IN THE VAR
Although little watered, the Var department has many canyons mostly dry but not only.
Let us first mention the must-see Gorges du Destel with its slender cliffs and suspended caves. Close to Toulon, this natural sanctuary was already occupied in the Neolithic. The stream that once flowed (and still flows from time to time) has left the passage for sports hikers and climbers who want to offer a moment of dreaming and escape.
The Moorish massif offers wild, green and often inaccessible canyons. If some are still sinking in May, it will most of the time take them through early April and face the cold to enjoy the landscaped gems they hold.
How not to mention the Verdon and its deep gorges of almost 300 meters. This is above all the reign of stone and verticality. Only the turquoise Verdon bed refreshes this arid landscape of incredible savagery. Several canyons, very vertical but often dry, feed the Verdon and are travelled as a reminder. The Verdon itself can be travelled by water trekking.
